This is a small restaurant run by the friendly Hirata couple, and it's one of Yushin's favorite spots. They welcome you with bright and warm service!
The restaurant features an L-shaped counter and private Japanese-style rooms, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. It's bustling with regulars, and the air is filled with cheerful laughter! It's a very comfortable place to be.
Using seasonal ingredients and showcasing creative ingenuity, the dishes, prepared with meticulous care, are all perfect accompaniments to drinks!
On this day, we enjoyed seared tuna and golden snapper, a sashimi platter with flounder and cuttlefish, and cod milt, a must-try this time of year, served with refreshing ponzu sauce. For oysters, we had them prepared in a Western style with ideas you wouldn't expect from a Japanese restaurant: "escargot style" and "cheese baked"! We also enjoyed dishes like seafood with grated yam sauce and roasted duck, while asking the chef for his recommendations!
The sake selection included famous brands from all over Japan. We started with the crisp, dry sake from Tateyama Brewery in Toyama, followed by Kubota from Asahi Brewery in Niigata, and Kuzuryu from Kokuryu Brewery in Fukui, enjoying a variety of flavorful sakes. So delicious!
For the final dish, we had their signature "mackerel sushi," a pressed sushi lightly coated with kelp, which we thoroughly enjoyed! It was very filling!
We had a really fun night chatting about everything from work to our personal lives over drinks! Let's drink again soon, Yuushin!
