Izu-Nagaoka Bakery "tsumiki": Bread made with safe ingredients to connect to the children of the future.

Having finished our trip to Izu Nagaoka Onsen, we were on our way home when we stopped at a small bakery in Izunokuni City, in search of one of the joys of traveling: "bakery hopping."tsumikiThis is a bakery that stands quietly in a corner of a residential area. The shop, which also serves as the owner's residence, is small and unassuming, but when you open the door, a warm and inviting space filled with the comforting feel of wood unfolds before you.

The shop is filled with the gentle aroma of freshly baked bread, creating a warm atmosphere that makes you want to take a deep breath. When I told the owner that it was my first visit and that I had stopped by during my travels, he greeted me with a smile, and a peaceful atmosphere permeated the shop. They also sell dried flowers. I felt a sense of closeness unique to a small shop, and the owner's gentle personality left me with a warm feeling.

When I peered into the display case, I was immediately surprised by the reasonable prices, with everything costing around 300 yen.

Each loaf of bread is carefully baked with attention to the ingredients. Using Hokkaido-grown wheat and other ingredients sourced from producers who minimize pesticide use, in order to pass on better food and a better environment to future generations, the bread is baked with care, preserving the natural flavors of the ingredients.

You can feel the warmth of homemade goodness in these breads, which are a testament to the owner's dedication, especially in a small shop.

This time, I decided to take home some items like ham and cheese croissants, cheese French bread, Camembert and currants, milk French bread, fig and cream cheese, and homemade custard and cherry, and reheat them at home.

Ham and cheese croissant ¥320

"Cheese French Bread" ¥260

"Macadamia Nut & Black Pepper" ¥320

Camembert Currants ¥330

Fig & Cream Cheese ¥360

"Milk French Bread" ¥260

I stumbled upon this bakery while traveling, but its gentle flavors and pleasant atmosphere provided a comforting moment at the end of my trip to Izu.
