Bathed in the soft morning sunlight,Izu Nagaoka Onsen Sanyo-soThe new building of "[Name of building]" quietly reveals its outline, displaying a dignified presence. While possessing a different charm from the historic main building, it inherits the tranquil atmosphere of Sanyoso, creating a beautiful morning scene.

The pleasant silence, enveloped in light and shadow, seems to quietly announce the start of the day.

The neatly arranged windows harmonize gently with the greenery of the garden, creating a dignified presence. Bathed in the morning sun, the building casts soft shadows, exuding a sense of calm amidst its gravitas.

We walked down a long, quiet corridor, gazing at the garden with its clear, flowing water, to the breakfast area.

Breakfast, like dinner, is served in the same room, "Yuho," in the new building, and starts at 8:00 AM.

A strawberry and banana smoothie, perfect for waking up, was brought to my table.

"Strawberry Smoothie"
A smoothie made with seasonal strawberries and bananas, offering a perfect balance of natural sweetness and tartness – the perfect drink to start your day.

"Rice cooked in a traditional pot (using domestically produced rice)"
Each person is served their own individual pot of rice, which is cooked to perfection, resulting in a fluffy and glossy texture.

"Steamed vegetables (4 kinds) with ponzu sauce"
The steamer basket is filled with plump, steamed seasonal vegetables: broccoli, carrots, pumpkin, and onions. The natural sweetness of each ingredient is highlighted, and it's served with a light and refreshing ponzu sauce.

A Japanese breakfast served in a 120% bento box.

A beautifully arranged, colorful bento box, like a jewel box, is prepared, and the vibrant display on the table brings a smile to everyone's face.

In addition, a dish of pickled wasabi stems from Izu Amagi is served alongside, creating a culinary experience that truly reflects the bounty of the land.

"Rice cooked in a pot, flavored miso soup"
A variety of small dishes that pair perfectly with white rice are laid out, making it hard to stop eating. Before I knew it, I was reaching for a second helping of rice. It was a luxurious moment to slowly enjoy the morning while experiencing ingredients unique to this travel destination.

"fruit"
A refreshing dessert featuring juicy, sweet citrus fruits and kiwi fruit, perfect after a meal.

Spend a relaxing morning in the tranquil atmosphere of the grand hall.

After the meal, take a break with a freshly brewed cup of coffee from the coffee maker set up on the veranda.

As you are enveloped in the gentle morning air, a leisurely and luxurious time flows by.

At this time, the veranda, which had not yet been unveiled, was off-limits.

A newly constructed moon-viewing platform overlooking the garden. A place to admire the full moon and enjoy the atmosphere.

I'm quietly waiting for the unveiling, and just imagining what kind of events will take place fills me with excitement.

Sanyoso occasionally hosts special events such as elaborately staged Bunraku performances and garden parties. When planning your visit, it's a good idea to check their official website or Instagram for the latest information.

On the vast grounds, the overlapping roofs are quietly arranged, creating the beautiful interplay of light and shadow characteristic of sukiya-style architecture. Looking at it from the second floor, it feels as if the history that has accumulated over time is itself reflected in the overlapping roofs.

A chair is casually placed in the hallway facing the window, allowing you to slowly admire the view outside. You can enjoy the garden scenery as if you were framing a picture.

Listen to the soothing sound of water flowing through the garden and enjoy a time of enriching your soul.

In the long corridor, light and shadow gently overlap, making each step feel as if you are walking through a painting.

In the garden awaiting spring, lush greenery spreads across moss-covered rocks, and the shimmering stream of water in the sunlight creates a tranquil scene.

Simply gazing at the garden brings a sense of well-being and peace of mind. Such a luxurious time flows quietly in the garden of Sanyoso.

As you gaze upon the scene, you realize that even the corridors you simply pass through are special places that allow you to appreciate the beauty of the architecture. This quiet beauty of light and shadow is also one of the unique charms of Sanyoso.
