Speaking of Chinese food in Hagioka,August 2014OpenA full eight yearsThe "Chinese Restaurant Hyakka"san. Kaminishi-cho's "Chinese Restaurant Ibe" is a famous Chinese restaurant that has now relocated to Kyoto.SeikaThey are fellow apprentices from the same school as "[Name of restaurant]". This restaurant is also run by Chef Matsushita and his wife Momo, but on busy weekdays and weekends with reservations, you can see part-time staff working efficiently in the dining area. Hyakka is a restaurant that is affordable and offers generous portions, making it a favorite among the general public. It is always bustling, and you often have to wait as soon as it opens, so it is best to make a reservation. There are 2-3 parking spaces in front of the store, and several more spaces are available down the side street next to the store.

The restaurant has a spacious counter with 7 seats, 12 table seats, and 3 tables in a private room at the back. The owner-chef works in the kitchen.MatsushitaMy usual pleasure is watching Kun's quick wok skills from my counter seat at the end of the counter, but on this particular night, even though I arrived late, the restaurant was full, and I was seated at a table as soon as a seat became available. Even though it's November, it seems the year-end party season has begun, as I saw many groups of customers.

"Ankake Yakisoba" (stir-fried noodles with thick sauce) 900 yen
If you go several days without actively eating enough vegetables"That's it! Let's go to Hyakka's!"And so it goes. I chose stir-fried noodles with a thick, warm sauce to warm up my chilled body. As you can see, the amount and quantity of vegetables in this dish is incredible. There are at least 10 different kinds of vegetables in it. I'm so happy that they generously provide plenty of seasonal vegetables!

The noodles in this stir-fried noodle dish are flat and thick. They are steamed once, then pan-fried on both sides until crispy, before being topped with a vegetable sauce. The satisfying noodles emerge from beneath the vegetables. For those who want to enjoy a change of flavor, please add the homemade XO sauce provided on the side.

Tanmen (noodle soup) 830 yen
My husband's favorite dish is Tanmen. He always asks for the noodles to be firm. As always, it takes a while to get to the noodles because of the generous amount of vegetables piled on top (lol). It's generously filled with various green and yellow vegetables, root vegetables, mushrooms, and potatoes. Tanmen is colorful, and packed with nutritious vegetables, so it seems very good for both the gut and the skin. The flavor is relatively light thanks to the umami of the vegetables, so you can also add XO sauce to your liking♪

"8 dumplings" 440 yen
Momoka's dumplings are sweet and filled with plenty of vegetables. The skin is pan-fried to a crisp, giving them a wonderful texture. I like to add plenty of chili oil for a spicy kick. Even after 9 PM, customers kept coming in, so I couldn't really chat with Mr. and Mrs. Matsushita. I'll definitely come back again soon!
