Mie, Shima "NEMU RESORT-6-" Breakfast buffet at "Restaurant Satoumi" where you can savor the bounty of the local area.

Surrounded by forestNEMU RESORTThe second day begins with a refreshing morning. After an early morning stroll and taking a deep breath of the crisp air, we board the villa's private cart for breakfast and head to "HOTEL NEMU". The cart goes to the villa's private cart parking area.

On the morning of our second day, we were blessed with a refreshing blue sky that made us forget about the rainy season.

The forest's greenery, washed clean by the rain, shines even more vividly.

Breakfast at "Restaurant Satoumi" on the first floor of the main building is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM (last order at 9:30 AM), so you can stop by at any time you like.

At the restaurant entrance, you'll be greeted by a vibrant floral arrangement that evokes the feeling of summer. Sunflowers and other seasonal blossoms add a splash of color, brightening your mood from the moment you arrive.

Beyond the large windows, the trees, fresh from the rain, are bathed in the morning sun, creating a tranquil scene of vibrant green. Enjoying breakfast in this relaxed atmosphere makes the start of the day even more special.

After telling the receptionist your room number, a staff member will escort you to your seat. Enjoying the lush forest view outside the window, it's a wonderful start to the day.

The restaurant offers a Japanese and Western buffet featuring an abundance of ingredients from Mie Prefecture and seasonal delicacies. From local specialties to breakfast staples, the colorful dishes are beautifully arranged, making it difficult to decide what to try first.

First, head to the salad bar in the center, where fresh vegetables are lined up. In addition to a variety of colorful vegetables, there are plenty of toppings available, such as nuts, olives, and seeds, so you can create your own personalized salad plate.

Roast ham served with truffle-flavored sauce and thick Bologna sausage, which originates from the Bologna region of Italy.

The menu includes a smooth potato salad made with new potatoes, and "Tonnata," a traditional regional dish from Piedmont in northern Italy, featuring pork loin with a special tuna sauce made with tuna, anchovies, capers, mayonnaise, and hard-boiled eggs.

We also offer a wide variety of cold appetizers, including refreshing lime-flavored "Tomato and Carrot Marinade," satisfying "Chicken and Colorful Vegetable Caesar Salad," and "Seafood Marinade" made with Meyer lemons.

Being able to enjoy a wide variety of vegetables in the morning is a great benefit for your health.

The freshly baked bread selection includes perfectly sized "mini croissants," round and fluffy "butter rolls," healthy "soy milk bread," and sweet options such as fragrant "tea scones" and "mini cream cheese and raspberry pies." You can reheat them in the conveyor toaster located next to the counter and enjoy them piping hot.

Colorful pots and trays hold side dishes that complement Western cuisine, such as thick-cut bacon, coarse-ground sausages, and scrambled eggs, which are served warm on a hot plate.

The menu includes filling "Penne with Tomato and Bacon," comforting "Steamed Clams and Red Snapper with Seaweed," and gently flavored "Potato Potage."

The irresistible "Oven-roasted potatoes and baby corn," the "simmered dishes" of root vegetables, and the elegantly flavored "Chikuzen-ni" (a type of Japanese stew).

They offer "Ise Lobster Curry," a seafood delicacy unique to Mie Prefecture, as well as a breakfast curry so luxurious it's hard to believe it's for breakfast.

For rice, we offer "Hagama Gohan," fluffy, perfectly cooked rice with each grain gleaming in a traditional iron pot, and "Umi no Nanakusa-gayu," a traditional local dish from Mie Prefecture that has been enjoyed for 100 years since the Edo period, which consists of white rice porridge topped with seaweed.

Ise Udon, a staple of Mie Prefecture, is appealing for its unique chewy texture. It comes with broth and sauce, and you can add condiments to your liking.

The masu (wooden measuring cup) contains "Tekone Sushi," a traditional dish from the southern Shima region that has been enjoyed for generations in fishing towns, as well as "Onsen Tamago" (hot spring egg) served in a delicious broth, and "Homemade Yose Tofu" (soft tofu) that allows you to savor the rich flavor of soybeans.

You can compare different types of bonito flakes from Hisamasa, a long-established bonito flake manufacturer founded in 1897. We recommend adding extra bonito flakes to the broth of Ise udon noodles or serving it with rice cooked in a traditional iron pot to make "nekomamma" (rice mixed with bonito flakes). Furthermore, you can enjoy local flavors such as the fragrant "arare chazuke" (rice cracker rice porridge), a specialty of Mie Prefecture, all at once, which is one of the great pleasures of traveling.

There is also a wide variety of small side dishes to go with the Japanese food, such as "dashimaki tamago" (rolled omelet) with plenty of dashi broth, lightly seasoned "yakinasu" (grilled eggplant), and side dishes that go well with rice, such as "nikumiso" (meat miso), "nori wasabi" (seaweed and wasabi), and "katsuobushi no tsukudani" (dried bonito flakes).

"Aosa konnyaku" served with vinegared miso, and "shirasu oroshi" (grated daikon radish with whitebait).

The grilled fish options include small, easy-to-eat dried horse mackerel marinated in mirin, and bite-sized hairtail fish.

Inside the steamer was piping hot "Tai Okowa" (sea bream rice).

The miso soup, made with blended miso paste, can be finished by adding rolled wheat gluten, chopped green onions, or wakame seaweed to the bowl, according to your preference.

The desserts are mainly mini-sized, and it's nice to be able to sample a little bit of everything that catches your eye, such as the fragrant "Earl Grey Jelly," the rich "Almond Milk Almond Tofu," the refreshing citrus "Kumano Kodo Mandarin Orange Jelly," the smooth "Ouchiyama Pudding," and the sweet and sour "Berry Bavarois."

The menu includes cheesecake, fragrant Ise green tea pound cake, refreshing home-grown sweet summer orange pound cake, and plain unsweetened yogurt, all served with a generous amount of pink grapefruit and aloe cocktail.

"Fruit granola" and "cereal," which are easy to enjoy for breakfast, are made with high-quality raw milk that Mie Prefecture is proud of.Ouchiyama Milk"in.

The drinks include iced coffee, cold roasted green tea, apple juice, and an easy-to-drink carrot and orange mix.

They also offer refreshing vinegar drinks such as "Muscat Vinegar," "Grape & Berry Vinegar," and "White Peach Vinegar."

"Nem Resort Original Coffee," roasted locally, is served using a German coffee machine.WMFYou can get it at "[this address]".

A luxurious breakfast dish featuring small portions of local delicacies is now complete.

Enjoy the unique experience of a breakfast buffet by having Japanese and Western dishes served on separate trays.

A variety of small Japanese dishes are served, creating a Japanese breakfast that resembles a traditional Japanese inn's breakfast. The ability to enjoy a little bit of everything is one of the charms of a buffet.

Every dish was carefully prepared, and each one was flavorful and truly delicious. Among them, the one I couldn't help but ask for seconds of was Mie's local dish, "Tekone Sushi." The exquisite balance of perfectly marinated bonito and vinegared rice, along with the accent of pickled ginger, stimulated my appetite, and I couldn't stop eating. Furthermore, there were plenty of side dishes to go with the rice, so I ended up asking for seconds of the fluffy rice cooked in a traditional iron pot. Before I knew it, I was not just 80% full, but completely stuffed.

This Western-style meal features a salad plate overflowing with vegetables, accompanied by warm side dishes. The bread, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, tastes so delicious, as if it were freshly baked, that you'll find yourself reaching for another bite.

Along with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, the saying "there's always room for dessert" is certainly true. Looking back at the photos, I can't help but laugh at the sheer quantity of food I ate, wondering, "Did I really eat all that?" Even so, when I'm traveling, I prioritize enjoying the local delicacies over worrying about calories. I enjoy my trips with the mindset that I can always work on my diet when I get back.

A special moment that can only be experienced while traveling. Enjoying each local delicacy while gazing at the lush forest scenery outside the window was a blissful moment that nourished both mind and body. The breakfast buffet at "Restaurant Satoumi" is one of the unique charms of "NEMU RESORT," providing a rich experience befitting the start of the day. Another special breakfast that can only be enjoyed when staying for multiple nights, as was the case this time, is the "Forest Breakfast," exclusively for guests staying at "Forest Villa DOG." The next morning, we experienced a special morning enjoyed amidst abundant nature. We will also be sharing details of that experience, so please look forward to it.
