It was the morning of the third day of my stay. When I woke up, the lush green forest outside my window was filled with the gentle chirping of birds, and although it wasn't a perfectly sunny day, I was blessed with pleasant summer sunshine. After refreshing myself with a morning bath and getting ready, the first thing I did was carefully brew my favorite iced coffee one cup at a time. Pouring hot water slowly, the coffee brews up beautifully. For me, the time I spend calmly brewing coffee is a special time.
Chocolat, too, was captivated by the aroma of coffee, which she loves, and relaxed and took it easy in the garden.
With only the sounds of birdsong and the wind rustling through the trees to be heard, a cup of coffee brewed in the quiet forest will surely taste different from coffee brewed at home.

The day before, we went to the first floor of the main building, "HOTEL NEMU".Restaurant SatoumiHaving enjoyed the Japanese and Western buffet at the restaurant, we opted for a leisurely breakfast in our room that day. If you make a reservation by 6 PM the previous day, a staff member will deliver it to your room between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Not having to go to the restaurant in the main building and being able to spend the morning at our usual pace with our dog is a unique charm of Forest Villa DOG.
Inside the cooler bag delivered to your room, you'll find a beautifully wrapped two-tiered bento box, a warm soup in a camping-style soup thermos, chopsticks, wet wipes, and a menu. This "Forest Breakfast" can be enjoyed freely in your room or anywhere on the grounds, creating a picnic-like atmosphere.
The moment I untied the wrapping cloth and opened the lid of the bento box, I felt the same excitement as opening a treasure chest. Inside, the chef had carefully prepared a variety of colorful dishes, which were beautifully arranged.
Move the table to the garden and arrange your packed lunches, and it truly becomes a private restaurant in the middle of the forest.

- Rice cooked in a traditional iron pot (salted rice ball, takana roll, chirimen sansho roll, ume hijiki nori roll)
Today's menu includes two kinds of grilled fish, rolled omelet, tenderly simmered octopus, red clam with wasabi and seaweed, glazed shrimp, and simmered daikon radish.

The chef's dedication is evident in every single dish.
The fluffy rolled omelet releases a gentle dashi flavor with every bite, and the grilled fish and simmered dishes are seasoned elegantly to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients. The salad, generously filled with shrimp and vegetables, is beautifully colorful and nutritionally balanced. The rice, cooked in a traditional iron pot, is made into easy-to-eat俵型 (tawaragata) shaped rice balls. With different flavors to enjoy—takana roll, chirimen sansho roll, and ume hijiki nori roll—you can savor every bite without getting bored. Furthermore, the clam chowder, served in a soup jar, stays warm until the very last drop, and a cup enjoyed in the crisp morning air warms you to the core. Every dish shows meticulous preparation, making this a breakfast where even the time spent deciding what to eat first feels like a happy moment.
While the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant is very appealing, the time spent on the villa terrace with our beloved dog has a different kind of special value. Chocolat relaxed on the terrace, and we were able to enjoy breakfast without worrying about the time. The view of the forest with sunlight filtering through the trees, the chirping of birds, the gentle breeze—enjoying breakfast surrounded by such nature was a moment that filled our hearts with satisfaction. The "Forest Breakfast," which can only be selected for consecutive nights, is one of the services that we highly recommend experiencing if you are staying at "Forest Villa DOG." A casual morning with our dog becomes an unforgettable memory of our trip. It was a special morning where we felt the hospitality that is unique to "NEMU RESORT."
