At the hotel shop in Shima, Mie Prefecture, "NEMU RESORT-17-", choose a souvenir to remember your trip before saying goodbye.

Blessed with the rich nature of Ise-Shima National Park and Ago Bay,NEMU RESORTOur 3-night, 4-day stay at [hotel name] was finally coming to an end. Before checking out, we headed to the "hotel shop" located behind the hotel front desk. When traveling, one of the great pleasures is the time spent looking for local souvenirs.

The shop beautifully displays local specialties, crafts, sweets, and seasonings unique to Mie Prefecture, allowing you to feel the bounty of the region.

The shop's front area also features a small sales corner with snacks and other items to satisfy your hunger during your stay. The shop's operating hours are from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM, but drinks and snacks can be purchased until 10:00 PM.

The time spent browsing the restaurant together, chatting as a couple about what to get and what looks delicious, also becomes a cherished memory of the trip.

This time, I selected "Ise-Shima Fisherman's Arare (Squid)" as a souvenir for friends, as it's easy to distribute. Made with carefully selected glutinous rice and kneaded with squid, these rice crackers have a lingering flavor of the ingredients and are so delicious you'll find yourself reaching for more.

The hotel also offers original products, including drip packs of "Imperial Coffee" (which were also provided in the rooms), baked goods, curry, and hashed beef.

What particularly caught my eye in the hotel shop were the amenities and skincare products that were actually used in the guest rooms. I had experienced firsthand how pleasant they were to use at "Forest Villa DOG"Mikimoto CosmeticsThe hotel also sells products from the brand, and guests can purchase them on the spot, which is a nice bonus. The "Pearl Aurora Bath" at "Megumi no Yu" was a relaxing experience many times during my stay. To allow guests to enjoy that feeling at home, a "bath powder" containing the same ingredients was also available for purchase. While the beautiful aurora-like shimmer cannot be replicated as it is a special effect, the bath water itself contains the same ingredients. It's the perfect souvenir to take home as a memento of your trip, or as a treat for yourself.

"Aosa-flavored rice crackers" were placed in the room as a welcome snack. These delicious rice crackers capture the aroma and flavor of "aosa," a bounty from the sea.

Don't miss the sweets inspired by pearls, a representative specialty of Ise-Shima. The roll cookies come with a "Kiska Pearl" as a bonus. This playful item, typical of Ise-Shima, allows you to take home not only a memento of your trip but also a small souvenir.

A jewelry corner featuring pearl jewelry is also located in one section of the hotel shop.

A beautiful array of pearl necklaces, a source of pride for Ise-Shima, are on display, their elegant brilliance captivating you and drawing your attention. Beyond mere souvenirs, you might find a truly exceptional piece that you'll cherish for a lifetime as a memento of your trip.

The following were used during my stay:Mikimoto CosmeticsThe Moon Pearl skincare series is impressive for its luxurious feel. In particular, the cleansing cream, cleansing foam, and moisture-rich lotion blend smoothly into the skin, leaving it feeling moisturized after washing. They have become my favorite items, and I want to continue using them even at home.

NEMU RESORT offers a wide range of activities to enjoy in nature, and the hotel shop also stocks apparel items such as hats and clothing. It's convenient to be able to purchase items you might need during your stay, whether for protection from sudden sunburns or as a souvenir of your trip.

A popular souvenir to conclude a trip to Ise-Shima is processed products made from Matsusaka beef, a brand of beef that Mie Prefecture is proud of. A wide variety of delicious items are available, such as "shigure-ni" (simmered beef), "suji-ni" (simmered beef tendons), and "nikumiso" (meat miso), which go well with rice, allowing you to enjoy the delicious tastes of Mie that you experienced on your trip, even at home.

To make our travel stories even more enjoyable, we also picked up some "salt shortbread" cookies, perfect for our tea time at home.

We've also picked out some of the flavors that are unique to Ise-Shima. These include "Aosa and Konbu," which has a rich aroma of the sea, and "Matsusaka Beef Shigure-ni," which is perfect with rice. The charm of souvenirs is that you can enjoy the bounty of your travel destination at home. Every time you have them on your dinner table after returning home, you'll naturally be reminded of the time you spent in Ise-Shima.

After finishing our shopping, we checked out with a lingering sense of reluctance, and left the hotel, waved goodbye by the warm smiles of the staff.

During our stay, we were able to relax amidst beautiful nature, enjoy delicious meals, and create many memories with our beloved dog, Chocolat. The vast 250-hectare grounds still hold many places we haven't visited and activities we haven't experienced. This resort has a charm that makes you want to return in a different season. The breeze blowing through the forest, the beautiful views of Ago Bay, the moon shining in the night sky, the soothing hot springs, the delicious food, and the peaceful time spent with our dog—every moment made this trip special. With our favorite souvenirs in hand, we look forward to slowly reflecting on our four days in Ise-Shima and eagerly anticipating our return. This concludes our 3-night, 4-day travelogue of our stay at "NEMU RESORT." Thank you so much for reading to the end. Next time, we'll bring you another wonderful trip that adults can truly enjoy with their beloved dogs. Please look forward to it!
