The entrance is here, with a simple, modern design featuring jet-black walls adorned with Japanese elements and a white noren (traditional Japanese curtain).

"CHAKI CHAKI GREEN TERRACE CAFÉ / Chaki Chaki"
This is a Japanese-style cafe where you can enjoy matcha green tea from Shizuoka Prefecture, brewed using "Kin'yūsui" (golden spring water) that gushes from the mines where gold was extracted, along with carefully handmade Japanese sweets. The terrace seating is dog-friendly, making it a great cafe for dog lovers.

Upon entering, you'll immediately find a waiting area. Order your meal here and wait to be guided down to the riverside terrace.

The approach is covered with pebbles, making a pleasant crunching sound with every step. Dogs are allowed to roam freely here, provided they are on a leash. The building, which was under construction for expansion when we visited in early November, has now been completed and reborn as a lovely space with covered private rooms.Official InstagramI saw it there.

Inside the store

Counter seats

The interior features a simple design that makes the most of Japanese modern aesthetics.

While our riverside terrace is the most popular seating option, we also have indoor seating available for those who prefer not to sit outdoors or are concerned about rainy weather.

I'm looking at the menu and trying to decide what to order.

I was able to bring my dog, Chocolat, along, and it was a stylish cafe – so many things to be happy about! She may look expressionless, but I'm sure she was happy (lol).

Customers bringing their dogs will be given a guide with important rules. The rules are very simple and are necessary for both general users and dog lovers to enjoy their time here, so please be sure to read them and follow the rules.

Surrounded by the Yoshinagawa River and the trees of Amagi, this is a place overflowing with lush nature.

Riverside terrace

We'll descend this slope and head towards the riverside terrace one level below.

The sight of the staff members carrying trays laden with tall parfaits and matcha bowls down the stairs is truly magnificent.

A comfortable riverside terrace built with sturdy wooden decking.

The Yoshinaga River flows gently below, and bathed in the dappled autumn sunlight and gentle breezes, it's a truly superb location.

The area below the wooden deck is further sloped, so please watch your step.

Ropes are stretched along both sides, and if you descend one more level, you can reach the riverbank.

The trees rustle softly, the plants sway gently, the river flows quietly, and the moss-covered rocks and pebbles create a landscape that is truly the epitome of natural beauty.

A riverside terrace built in such a luxurious location.

While I was captivated by the scenery, the staff members were going up and down the stairs multiple times.

A place I've always wanted to visit. And the Japanese sweets I've always wanted to try are right in front of me. What a perfect birthday cafe experience!

"Today's sweets and matcha tea" ¥900
The wagashi (Japanese sweets) that represent the four seasons of Japan are handmade, and limited quantities of nerikiri (a type of wagashi) are offered. Here, great care is taken with the tableware as well; the white porcelain used for the matcha and wagashi is all made by ceramic artist Akifumi Fukasawa. Mr. Fukasawa studied under the world-renowned white porcelain artist Taizo Kuroda. The white porcelain tableware highlights the deep, clear, beautiful green of the matcha and the delicate colors of the wagashi that express the seasons. The spoons and trays that accompany them are beautiful pieces made from thinned wood from Izu by woodworker Toshihiro Ariki (Ariki Tool Shop).

Today's Japanese sweet: "Sazanka" (camellia) - Limited Quantity
"Sazanka" is a type of wagashi (traditional Japanese sweet) that is often used as the main confection (high-grade wagashi) for tea ceremonies in early winter.

Using two colors, white and light pink, the camellia flower's meaning is "overcoming difficulties," but it also has other meanings such as "single-mindedness" and "humility," evoking an image of gentleness and resilience as well as strength. The camellia blooms beautifully even in the harsh cold of winter. It's so beautiful that it almost feels a shame to eat it. The dough is of high quality, moist and smooth with a rich flavor, and the filling has a gentle sweetness and an elegant finish.

Today's Japanese sweet: "Apple/RINGO" (limited quantity)
The apple, a winter delicacy, is small, round, and adorable, and dyed a vibrant red.
By using real parts for the stem and leaves, the finished product looks just like a real apple has been placed there.

With just one bite, the refreshing aroma of apple wafts through your nose, and the gentle sweet and sour taste of apple leaves a clean, refreshing aftertaste. Not only does it look like the real thing, but the taste is so authentic that you'll find yourself savoring every bite. It's such a delightful treat that you'll be reluctant to finish it.

"Matcha Green Tea (Cold)"
Shizuoka is Japan's number one tea-producing region. They use matcha from Shizuoka. The water they use is "Kin'yūsui" (golden spring water), which springs from a mine where gold was extracted. It has been used as a source of water for local life for over 200 years since the Edo period. They had both hot and cold matcha, so we ordered one of each and shared them. The hot matcha allowed us to enjoy the fragrant aroma of the tea even more and felt a comforting mellowness, while the cold matcha had a concentrated, firm taste and a strong, refreshing matcha flavor with a clean aftertaste. Both were delicious.

A blissful time with my favorite wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) and matcha tea set.

The soft afternoon sunlight filtering through the trees and the pleasant autumn breeze.

Looking up at the sky, you can feel the negative ions emanating from the large trees, creating a moment of healing.
