weLade Gourmet & Hotel Web MagazineThey support Toyama Prefecture in Japan.
This time, as the second installment of our "Traveling with Ceramics" series, we'll be traveling with the works of two artists from Toyama Prefecture!
The first group is a unit of artists from Yao Town, Toyama Prefecture.Shimoo Design"of
These wooden vessels are created by the husband and wife team, Kazuhiko and Saori Shimoo!
The two of them are working under the concept of "beautiful tools,"
Integrating Japanese culture and the aesthetic sensibilities of the Japanese people into modern lifestyles,
We strive to create "Japanese tools" that transcend trends and eras, while also making every effort to preserve traditional techniques.
They value infusing "Japanese beauty" into their Made in Japan wooden furniture and interior accessories!
The vessels I will be bringing this time are made using a technique devised based on the traditional technique of uzukuri (raised grain).
Introducing the "Fuyou Series," which highlights the wood grain, allowing you to enjoy the weathered, natural patterns created by the wood itself!
I hope many people will get to know the world of "beauty" that these two have created♪

The fourth-generation owner of "Shimatani Shoryu Kobo," Yoshinori Shimatani, createssyouryuThis is "Suzugami" from "!"
「syouryuThis refers to a company that has been making temple bells for 107 years, since its founding in 1909.
This will be a new brand from "Shimatani Shoryu Kobo".
"Suzugami" is a new item created using the technique of "hammering" tin!
The interesting thing about this vessel is that its shape can be changed to suit what you're using it for.
You can fold it, roll it up, raise the corners, make it wavy, and change its shape freely!
「syouryuWe want many people to know about the world of beauty that "[company name]" creates♪
