Bi Pi is said to be a dragon's offspring, resembling a turtle, and to have assisted King Yu the Great in flood control.
It is believed to possess the strength to bear the weight of the three mountains and five peaks on one's back, and is used in carvings on the bases of stone monuments and pillars.
