Many shops have been in business for 60 to 70 years, and the street is well-known locally as a place where long-established businesses gather.

However, since most shops close around 5 PM,
The number of tourists drops drastically at night.
Amidst all this, let me introduce you to a shop that quietly operates at night in a peaceful shopping street♪

A major landmark is the live fish tank at the entrance, where seasonal seafood swims energetically.Washokudokoro Kobayashi」。

"Chinese Restaurant Ichiban"

It's not right in front of the station, but if you're looking for Chinese food in Atami, this is the place.
Located about a 5-minute walk down the slope from Atami Station towards the coast, past Oedo Onsen Monogatari, is "Chinese Restaurant Ichiban」。
Chinese Restaurant Ichiban" has been operating in this area for over 30 years, and is popular not only with local residents but also with the community.
Morihiro HosokawaFormer Prime Minister andKazushige NagashimaThis is a renowned restaurant with many famous fans, including [name of celebrity].
Among them,Yasushi AkimotoMr. came here just to eat these dumplings.
Apparently, this person is such a passionate fan that they drove all the way from Tokyo to come see them!
The biggest secret to the deliciousness of those dumplings, apparently, lies in how they are cooked.
We use sweet cabbage from Aichi Prefecture, and blanch it to remove any raw smell.
After blanching the cabbage, chop it and squeeze out the excess water, but the key is how much water you leave in at this stage!
The moisture from the cabbage combines with the meat juices to create a moist and tender filling.
Normally, you add water when grilling, butChinese Restaurant IchibanIn this dish, the ingredients are quickly grilled in a special Chinese soup.
The Chinese soup is made with pork bones, chicken bones, chicken, ginger, garlic, and kelp, with the umami of the kelp being the key ingredient.
Actually, my husband invented the recipe for our dumplings, and we cook them in Chinese soup!
Once you've tasted dumplings soaked in Chinese soup, you can never go back to plain water! (lol)
