On the 29th, "Meat Day," NTS Co., Ltd., a wholesaler specializing in handling "Yonezawa Beef," a brand of beef from Yamagata Prefecture known as one of Japan's three best Kuroge Wagyu beef brands, operates a yakiniku restaurant called "Yonezawa Beef Charcoal Grilled Meat Uesugi Head to Hamamatsu Negarimatsu store!

The yakiniku restaurants currently operated by the company are:Yonezawa Beef Charcoal Grilled Yakiniku Uesugi Fukushima Store」、「Yonezawa Beef Charcoal Grilled Meat Uesugi Koriyama StoreThe four locations are "Hamamatsu Store", "Shichirin Yakiniku Uesugi (Koriyama Station)", and "Hamamatsu Store". The Hamamatsu Store is located at the corner of the Negarimatsu intersection, which was selected as one of the "New Hamamatsu 100 Selections", and is easily recognizable by its large sign!

At the entrance, you'll be greeted with the words "Oshoshina" (thank you) in the Yonezawa dialect!

The restaurant boasts a calm atmosphere with a dark brown color scheme, offering 88 seats, primarily in private rooms with bench sofas and sunken table seating. It is a yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) specialty restaurant that serves carefully selected Yonezawa beef grilled over binchotan charcoal, and is open all year round!

Upon entering the restaurant, you'll find a storage room where large cuts of meat, including our 자랑스러운 Chateaubriand, as well as kalbi, loin, sirloin, and more, are aged!

On this day, we were shown to a private room, and in order to enjoy Uesugi's proud lunch menu, I ordered the "Ladies' Lunch" set recommended for women for 1,380 yen, and my husband ordered the "All-You-Can-Eat Kalbi Lunch" set for 1,380 yen, which is a hearty meal!
In the bay window of the private room was the lord of the Yonezawa domain.Uesugi YozanThe book contains the powerful lesson that he recited to his retainers: "If you try, you can succeed; if you don't try, you can't succeed. Nothing is impossible if you don't try."

■ "Ladies' Lunch (with drink and dessert)" 1,380 yen
The Ladies' Lunch, highly recommended for women, is a healthy and varied lunch that includes not only beef, but also seafood and chicken. It comes as a set with carefully selected short ribs, Yamagata/Yonezawa beef meat roll, beef tongue, chicken thigh, scallops in the shell, salad, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), a side dish, rice, soup, a drink (oolong tea), and dessert (almond tofu), making it a truly satisfying and generous portion!
I especially enjoyed the melt-in-your-mouth beef wrapped in shredded bell peppers, and the plump chicken thighs that were lightly seasoned with lemon and salt. The menu was perfect for me, as I'm satisfied with just one or two slices of fatty short ribs!

■ "Kalbi Feast Yakiniku Lunch (with drink and dessert)" 1,380 yen
Recommended for men and those who love fatty meat, the Kalbi Zanmai Yakiniku Lunch is perfect for those who want to enjoy a hearty yakiniku meal. This generous set includes Yamagata/Yonezawa beef miso-marinated kalbi, Uesugi kalbi, green onion and salt kalbi, Yonezawa pork kalbi, salad, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), a side dish, rice, soup, a drink (oolong tea), and dessert (almond tofu)!

Furthermore, for lunch menus, you can choose from large, medium, or small portions of rice, and extra-large portions are free!

Both sets are served in tiered bento boxes, making them visually appealing, and I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the meat, which was far beyond what you'd expect for lunch!

With yakiniku (Japanese BBQ), you can grill each piece at your own pace and cook it to your liking, which is fantastic! Yakiniku is definitely the way to go on Meat Day!

After lunch, I'll head to the "Neagari Pine" and take my time to look up at it closely for the first time!

This Japanese black pine, estimated to be 300 years old, is approximately 13 meters tall, has a trunk circumference of about 3 meters, and is an extremely rare pine tree with its roots rising more than 2 meters above the ground!

In ancient times, this area was part of the grounds of Kamoeji Temple, and because the 19th Kannon statue was enshrined here, it was known as "Nineteenth Kannon Root-Raising Pine Tree" and has been a beloved local landmark!

Initially, the two Japanese black pines were called "Kamoe's Root-Raised Pines" and were registered as a designated natural monument of Hamamatsu City in 1959. However, on July 14, 2007, one of the black pines broke off at the base and fell, so now only the roots remain!

As I strolled around the pine tree with exposed roots, I expected to find no one there, but I came across an older gentleman diligently sketching the tree on a bench above!
The sheer power of the massive pine tree roots protruding from the ground gave me a sense of immense vitality, and I felt like I received a boost of energy from them!
