Located on the scenic shores of Lake Hamana, overlooking Bentenjima Island, a popular tourist spot and power spot on Lake Hamana,Asashio Inn, specializing in fresh seafoodThe early morning begins with a 'sound of dawn.' If you venture to the nearby Bentenjima Seaside Park, you'll be captivated by the beautiful collaboration of the gracefully curving Hamana Bridge and the fantastical, gradient-colored sky before sunrise. The red torii gate floating on Lake Hamana, Bentenjima's symbolic tree, reveals its presence at low tide!

Breakfast at the inn will be served in the same large banquet hall, "Manpuku," as dinner, starting at 7:00 AM. While you wait for your meal to be prepared, we recommend taking a morning bath or strolling along the walking paths by Lake Hamana!

Rice and drinks are self-service style, with a large rice cooker and bowls provided, allowing you to serve yourself as much as you like and control the portion size!

My family always eats a hearty breakfast first thing in the morning, so a Japanese-style set meal is ideal, and I'm delighted to see such a comforting breakfast spread out before us!

The meal included grilled salmon, fresh eggs, natto (fermented soybeans), seaweed, and side dishes of nutritious small fish and boiled beans—a lineup that would make you want to eat multiple bowls of rice! In particular, the fresh whitebait from Maisaka Port, which boasts one of the highest whitebait catches in the country, is a popular local specialty and one of my favorites! Despite being so full the night before, I was tempted by the delicious side dishes and ended up having a second helping!

Grilled salmon

"Boiled whitebait with grated daikon radish"

"Simmered hijiki seaweed"

"Gomoku-mame" (mixed bean dish)

"Rice from the terraced rice paddies of Toyooka Village (Koshihikari variety), miso soup, and pickles."

"Eggs, natto (fermented soybeans), seasoned seaweed"

I had a very satisfying breakfast in the morning, and afterwards I poured coffee into a mug and enjoyed it leisurely in my room!

The young innkeeper and his wife, who were entrusted with running the inn that their predecessors had carefully preserved, have worked together as a family business, offering heartwarming service and comforting Japanese cuisine.Asashio Inn, specializing in fresh seafoodIf you're ever in the Hamana Lake area, be sure to stop by!
