Located on Akasaka Street in Akasaka, Tokyo, in the designer building "Barbizon74" with its distinctive stone walls, is a bar on the first floor where you can enjoy stylish music and delicious drinks.dot&blue"Dot and Blue" opened on July 12, 2017!
This is my friend Haruna Yuki, who is the Managing Director of Nikko Construction Co., Ltd. in Nagoya, and also works as a jazz pianist.Yuuki Haruna)'s shop!
It's already been six months since I had dinner with Haruna-kun at the end of last year and heard about his plans to open a business.
I know he must have gone through a lot of trouble traveling back and forth between Tokyo and Nagoya, but I paid him a courtesy visit to show my respect for his challenging spirit and ability to get things done!
The dot design appears everywhere, from the shop's entrance sign to the walls inside the store.
These spaces are designed with the hope that they will become a place where many dots—representing "people" and "things/events"—connect with each other, and where new connections are forged.
The shop has also been named "dot & blue"!
The cylindrical atrium beautifully resonates the sound of the grand piano placed on the floor, creating an enchanting evening.
On the counter, there are aluminum panel dots that spread out like the bubbles in a glass of champagne.
The lighting displays a variety of colors, from refreshing blue to yellow, green, pink, and purple, making it a vibrant event venue that can also be rented out for private events!
First, let's toast with Haruna-kun with Champagne "Frederic Maletrez"!
For the white wine, I enjoyed "Auxey-Duresses Blanc Morey-Blanc" from Burgundy, which is rich in minerals and has a good balance of fruit flavors!
Inside the store, I spotted a dapper gentleman who resembled Haruna-kun! It turns out he's Haruna's dad, who's turning 70! He's helping out as part of the opening staff and seems to be enjoying his second life; he's a truly charming father!
Haruna-kun was seen conversing fluently in English with a foreign guest who happened to drop by the counter, which is great because it suggests a future global expansion is likely!
Also, there is a nice young man who comes in as a helper on weekends.Shuu WatanabeHe's here too!
While working at a liquor store that supplies wine to restaurants and bars, he also plays a vital role as a temporary sommelier, planning and assisting with various wine events!
They put their experience and knowledge into providing excellent customer service so that everyone involved can enjoy delicious wine!
For red wine, I chose "Chateau Lagrange Les Fiefs de Lagrange," the second wine of Château Lagrange.
I thoroughly enjoyed this cost-effective wine, which boasts a captivatingly deep ruby color, flavors of dark fruits, and hints of oak.
While enjoying the jazzy atmosphere with a glass of wine in hand, Haruna casually picked up his hand on the piano and gave us an impromptu performance!
The song title is "All the Things You Are".
”She gave a passionate performance of the romantic love song, "You are my everything."
The impromptu live performance, featuring a sophisticated and mature arrangement, was a huge hit, and we were able to enjoy a fantastic night in Akasaka!
It seems that a "Yukata Jazz Party" will be held as early as August 5th next month! If you're interested, be sure to check out the "dot & blue" website!
