Located right near Daiichi-dori Station on the Enshu Railway, commonly known as the "Red Train," which runs north-south through Hamamatsu City, is a wine restaurant.La Cachette"La Cachette" is a hidden wine bistro easily recognizable by the large wine barrels and bottles of wine placed in front of the shop. Opened in September 2012, it has already been a year and two months since its opening, and has become a very popular restaurant thanks to word-of-mouth about its delicious food and wine. Owner-sommelier Keiji Morishita, though only 34 years old, offers over 100 kinds of delicious wines at all times, carefully selected with the knowledge he cultivated at a wine shop and his own palate, and serves them with dishes that are perfectly matched to the wines. The name of the restaurant, "La Cachette," means hideaway, secret base, or treasure chest in French. It's a wonderful and exciting name!

The restaurant has two floors. The first floor has four counter seats and eight table seats. The second floor usually has table seating, but it can also be used as an event venue for wine tastings and seminars. The restaurant is run by Mr. Morishita and his mother-in-law.

"Hamburger Lunch" 880 yen
The lunch menu consists of just one item: this hamburger steak lunch. Apparently, Morishita-kun couldn't forget the taste of a certain hamburger steak specialty restaurant he tasted in Tokyo, so he refined the recipe repeatedly to create his own. It seems that it was quite a challenge to arrive at the exquisite balance of the mixed ground meats. Perhaps because of this, it brings out the best of both beef and pork, resulting in a very juicy finish. The hamburger steak, which is coated in demi-glace sauce, is topped with tartar sauce, achieving a balance between richness and a refreshing aftertaste. Inside the hamburger steak is a surprising surprise: corn cream wrapped in bacon. Hamburger steaks with cheese are common, but corn cream is a first. It is flavorful and rich, yet leaves a comforting and gentle feeling. The accompanying vegetables are lotus root, bell pepper, potato, and boiled egg. The vegetables retain their crisp texture and are delicious as a palate cleanser between bites of the hamburger steak.

The "rice" in the set

The set includes miso soup with tofu and wakame seaweed.
Unfortunately, it seems that Cassette's lunch service will be discontinued at the end of this month, November, and they will be focusing solely on dinner service. This delicious hamburger steak may occasionally be offered as a limited-time evening menu item, so although it's sad to see it go, let's hope we can enjoy it again. After the meal, while chatting about Italy with Morishita-kun,10/28 (Monday)A new store specializing in carefully selected ingredients has just opened south of the station.BIO Atsumi Epicerie HamamatsuI was able to hear Mr./Ms. [Name]'s story, so I'd like to visit sometime. Morishita-kun, I'll come again soon♪
