For us chicken lovers, this restaurant is a must-visit! And so, this was our next stop on our Chiang Mai pub crawl.
The shop is located south of Wat Phra Singh in the old city.Samlan Road Soi 1Upon entering,
It's located behind the famous Oasis Spa.
They moved to this location from their previous store.“SP Dog”Look for the yellow sign that says [this].

At the entrance of the shop, a charcoal grill is set up, and whole chickens are skewered on long sticks and roasted over the fire.
The fat drips down, and the savory aroma reaches the street.

The interior is bright and has the atmosphere of a casual, down-to-earth diner.
The kitchen is on the left, and there are more than 10 wooden tables that seat four people each.
Even at 8 PM, it was almost completely full; it was absolutely packed with people.
On the wall, the recommended dishes were written in Thai on a board,Gai Yang (grilled chicken): 1 chicken 150B, half chicken 80BThis is what is presented.
The price range seems to have been gradually increasing recently.

To order, you'll be given a menu/order form, and you place your order by marking the circle next to the dish name.
Menus are available in both Japanese and English.
The customer service is unfriendly, they don't smile at all, and it feels very businesslike, which is disappointing.
Perhaps they feel overwhelmed and swamped because they're so busy every day.
What particularly bothered me was the sullen expression on the owner's mother's face as she sat at the next table the whole time (creepy).
I tried my best not to let it bother me, but it's in my line of sight, so there's nothing I can do about it.
Ideally, we'd all like to enjoy our meals in a delicious and pleasant atmosphere.

Som Tum: 40 THB (approximately 150 yen in Japanese currency)

Som Tum is a Thai-style papaya salad.
In Thailand, it seems that it's common to eat som tum (papaya salad) and gai yang (grilled chicken) together.
Som Tum is a regional dish from Laos and northeastern Thailand (Isaan), but it is enjoyed throughout Thailand.
Slice an unripe green papaya,
Using a mortar-like device called a "clock," they crushed the green beans, tomatoes, garlic, and lime together.
Season with fish sauce, chili peppers, sugar, and other ingredients.
Other ingredients that may be added include peanuts, dried shrimp, and freshwater crabs.
The taste is fantastic, with the crisp texture of papaya being simply irresistible, and the spicy kick is so stimulating that it's an addictive salad!
Some restaurants offer extremely spicy options,
When ordering,Please don't make it spicy (mai ton pet)It would be good to say, "..."

"Gai Yang (half portion)" 80 THB (approximately 300 yen in Japanese currency)

Gai Yang is one of this restaurant's signature dishes.
Gai Yang is a dish from northeastern Thailand, consisting of a whole chicken marinated in sauce overnight and then grilled over charcoal.
In Thai,Gai ไก่" is a chicken,Yang ย่างThis refers to slowly grilling larger pieces of food.
It's a whole chicken grilled over charcoal, essentially what we call yakitori in Japan.
It comes with two kinds of sauce.
One is a sweet chili sauce, and the other is a spicy sauce with chili peppers.
Since it was freshly baked, it was bound to be delicious, but perhaps our expectations were too high.
Even when it comes to Japanese yakitori, we tend to prefer the salty flavor.
Even after coming to Chiang Mai, I've come to appreciate the greatness of salt (lol).
Now, let's take a stroll back to the guesthouse to sober up a bit!
Next up is the delicious congee specialty restaurant where I ate the following morning.Jok SompetThis is an introduction from "[Name]" ♪
