The whimsical, mushroom-shaped building remained dormant for a while after its completion, but on December 12, 2013, it finally opened as a sister restaurant to Nukumori no Mori, run by Nukumori Kobo, serving creative Italian cuisine.Warm Italian Restaurant KINOKOIt has just opened as "[restaurant name]". Since opening, its cute appearance and cozy, warm atmosphere have made it popular with local ladies during lunchtime, and the parking lot is always full. There is a sign in front of the store that directs you to the second parking lot, but we recommend carpooling and making a reservation in advance♪

Upon opening the entrance door, to the left you'll find a front desk and general merchandise corner with a display case where you can purchase accessories, cutlery, fragrances, and other items used in the restaurant.

This is a view of the first floor from the landing of the staircase leading to the second floor. The clean, brightly colored wallpaper, the charming cat-legged tables, and the romantic, retro-style stools create a warm atmosphere. The chandelier provides soft lighting, and the thick, calming reddish-brown curtains are adorned with tassels. Mushroom motifs, which are also the shop's name, are subtly incorporated throughout the space, creating an environment that women will surely appreciate. The first floor has about 40 seats with tables spaced comfortably apart. The second floor remains untouched and includes private-room-like spaces.

Located in the back of the first floor, this room features a slightly smaller, low round table and comfortable velvet stools that allow for deep seating. A key feature of the restaurant is its mushroom-shaped design and high ceilings, creating a sense of spaciousness. The uncrowded atmosphere ensures that customers will feel comfortable and at ease.

On this day, I visited a newly opened restaurant in the neighborhood with Ayako, who is both a client of my salon and a friend. Although they are open all day and serve lunch until 2:30 PM, it was past 1:00 PM, so only the primo course or à la carte options were available. The lunch menu consisted of the following:

Kinoko Course 1,780 yen
Bagna Cauda, Kinoko's Special Jumbo Mushroom Steak, Bread, Drink, Dessert
Primo Course 1,480 yen
Appetizer platter, one pasta dish, bread, drink, dessert
Second Course 1,780 yen
Appetizer platter, one choice of fish or meat dish, bread, drink, and dessert.
Fantasia Course 2,280 yen
Appetizer platter, one pasta dish, one fish or meat dish, bread, drink, and dessert.
Individual pasta dishes 980 yen (drinks are 300 yen when ordered with pasta)

"Shrimp and scallops in tomato cream sauce"

Pasta in a tomato cream sauce with the rich flavors of shrimp and scallops, and the sweetness of onions. The pasta portion is slightly larger than average.

"Gateau Chocolat" This isn't a moist gateau chocolat, but rather has a crumbly texture like a baked good.

"Foamy coffee" - Bitter, machine-brewed coffee.

Even after the cafe hours began, customers who had been there for lunch were still able to relax, and new customers came in specifically for the cafe, so it was bustling with activity throughout the day. It's really great to have a place that's open all day!
