After training at "Seika," a renowned Chinese restaurant in Hamamatsu that was well-known to those in the know but closed six years ago in March 2007, he opened his own restaurant in Kaminishi-cho on May 15, 2008.Chinese Restaurant IbeIt's located across from Tempus, a store that sells used kitchen equipment. It's safe to say that it's now one of Hamamatsu's leading Chinese restaurants♪

The restaurant boasts a clean and calming atmosphere with its brown-toned interior. While it has a total of 22 seats—12 table seats in the main dining area, one private room (for 4-6 people), and 4 counter seats—it's a popular spot, easily turning over its tables twice during lunchtime, even on weekdays. The lunch menu offers 6-7 dishes, including noodles and rice, priced between 1,000 and 1,200 yen. The daily special is highly recommended for its great value!

The set includes "sweet and sour pickles." These pickles have a perfect balance of sourness and sweetness. They are colorful and the vinegar stimulates the appetite.

"Char Siu Ramen" 1,000 yen

Mr. Ibe's soup is based on chicken broth, resulting in a light and refreshing soy sauce ramen. The finely chopped, gently sweet char siu and the green onions are briefly blanched in oil to reduce bitterness and bring out their sweetness, creating a very mild flavor. The noodles are thin and straight, and the clear, elegant ramen is easy on the stomach, allowing you to enjoy the soup to the very last drop!

Today's set meal: "Mapo Eggplant with Taiwanese Basil Set Meal" 1,200 yen

Adding bitter melon for a summery touch, and using three types of eggplant—white, green, and purple—adds depth of color and flavor. The Taiwanese basil, known as "Jiucongta," brings out a unique aroma. Dried Sichuan peppercorns are ground and sprinkled on top at the end, creating a highly aromatic and addictive flavor. All of Mr. Ibe's dishes are delicate and refined, and even though the Chinese food may look rich, it's surprisingly light and easy on the stomach, which suits our tastes perfectly. After eating, my husband and I always find ourselves saying to each other, "Mr. Ibe is the best for Chinese food!"

It seems that you can get refills of the rice that comes with the set meal.

The set meal includes "seaweed and tofu soup."

The aroma of green laver gently spreads in your mouth, creating a delicate and gentle soup. In addition to the standard lunch menu, they also offer a chef's choice course for two or more people, starting from 2,800 yen, which requires a reservation, so I'll definitely make a reservation next time. Mr. Ibe runs the restaurant with his wife, and when you're paying the bill and enjoying a little chat with his wife, he always stops what he's doing in the kitchen, comes out, and greets you. They are not a couple who talk a lot, but they are just as kind and considerate as the food served here. This time, his wife, who isn't very tech-savvy, asked me what to do since they couldn't correct the opening hours and other details on Tabelog themselves. However, my fellow reviewer is able to correct them using the system, so I decided to correct the opening hours and the price of the evening course meal for her. Mr. Ibe's evening hours start at 6 PM, and the evening course starts from 5,000 yen. Mr. Ibe and your wife, we'll be back again soon!
