Owner Kei Tomita, wanting to "spread cafe culture in the local area," gained experience as a bartender, learned coffee knowledge and techniques, and opened "This Is Cafe Shin-Kanaya Station Branch" inside Shin-Kanaya Station in February 2012!
Since then, they have steadily expanded their stores, opening the Fujieda store in Tsukiji, the Shizuoka store with an ocean view along Route 150 in Takamatsu, Suruga Ward, and the Shimizu store in S-Pulse Dream Plaza, striving to create stores that are loved by many fans♪

Located inside the charmingly retro Shin-Kanaya Station, "This Is Cafe Shin-Kanaya Station Branch" boasts a signature menu item: the "SL Latte," a collaboration with the steam locomotive!
The "SL Latte" is made to order, with beans ground fresh after the order is placed, and a rich, flavorful espresso extracted from the espresso machine. Steamed milk is added to create latte art, and then an original SL (steam locomotive) design mold is placed on top, and cocoa powder is sprinkled on top. This adorable drink is sure to be a memorable souvenir of your trip!
The shop has a dedicated photo booth for "SL Latte," where you can take pictures of your "SL Latte" alongside model train stations and steam locomotives!
Since this coffee stand is located inside the station, you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee while eagerly awaiting the arrival of the steam locomotive—a truly irresistible situation for railway enthusiasts, whether male or female!
