A luxury ryokan renowned as a hidden retreat for adults in the lush natural surroundings of Izu Kogen and Ukiyama Onsenkyo.ABBA RESORTS IZU – Zagyosou(Zagyosoh) Welcome to "Ava Resort is Zagyosoh"!

This is Zagyosou, a long-established luxury inn with a history of approximately 50 years, which on October 26, 2014, acquired a Taiwanese company.Civil GroupWith capital investment from HOLDINGS / ABBA RESTORTS GROUP, the facility underwent extensive renovations and has reopened!

This area, also known as a village of mountain peaches, is blessed with magnificent trees, some over 300 years old. The inn was designed to preserve and utilize these ancient trees without threatening their lives, resulting in a lush, natural Japanese garden.

On a 5,000-tsubo (approximately 16,500 square meter) plot of land, the resort spent approximately 1.8 billion yen on construction. In addition to renovating the two-story main building (19 rooms in total), they have built 13 new Japanese-modern villas in a separate building where guests can relax as if they were in their own private villa. With a total of 32 rooms, each with a different atmosphere, the resort offers the highest level of relaxation. Construction to expand the villas is currently underway, and three new villas are scheduled to open next year!

I visited this inn in March of this year to dine at their restaurant, and I decided that next time I would like to stay overnight. This is the inn I have chosen for my memorable 45th birthday trip!

Open all the windows and enjoy a welcome tea and snacks in our spacious lobby while being soothed by the pleasant sound of the waterfall flowing through the garden!

Akiko Harada, a dedicated staff member with a background in the tea ceremony and responsible for preserving the inn's cultural heritage, prepares the matcha tea for you. It has a deep aroma, is mellow, and offers a rich sweetness!

The accompanying sweets are "Yanmo no Sato," a sweet and sour tea confection shaped like the lovely bright red fruit of the mountain peach tree that bears abundant fruit in the garden. It is said that the fruit is imbued with the spirit of the tree, and eating just one will extend your life by a year!

Amidst the deep, azure greenery, the chirping of birds resonates, the soothing sound of the waterfall fills the air, and while gazing at the graceful koi swimming in the garden pond, you can enjoy a relaxing cup of matcha tea!
