Happy New Year! I'm delighted to have safely welcomed the New Year in Hamamatsu in 2022, enjoying a refreshing morning watching the first sunrise of the year across Lake Sanaru. Just like last year, I was able to witness a magnificent Diamond Fuji sunrise on television, and my fortune slip was also just as beautiful as last year...

We welcomed New Year's Day with homemade osechi ryori (traditional New Year's dishes) and ozoni (New Year's soup), and toasted with limited-edition sake from Aramasa Brewery!

At our family dinner table to celebrate the New Year, we enjoyed the Osechi ryori (traditional New Year's dishes) lovingly prepared by Keiko, the mother of our friends, sisters Ayako and Nanako Matsui, along with our own Ozoni (New Year's soup), and toasted with fine sake! The Osechi ryori consisted of Japanese kaiseki cuisine...
