As Golden Week draws to a close, the town is surely bustling with the Hamamatsu Festival. Ever since I moved to Mikatahara-cho, I haven't heard the festival trumpets, and it's really quiet. But when I peek at everyone's posts on Facebook, seeing the lively scenes of people in their festival attire and their festival hairstyles makes me feel like I'm participating too, seeing how much fun everyone is having♪ With all that festival information in the background, I head out to buy groceries and prepare dinner. I'm sure beer will be available at the festival, but I've also chilled some beer so I can enjoy it as early summer arrives. Tonight's dinner menu is a simple "sautéed pork loin." The side dishes are boiled new potatoes and okra, a carrot salad, and cherry tomatoes.

Château Laguiole's blue cutlery. Isn't it lovely? The knives are incredibly sharp, and above all, they have a wonderful presence just sitting there. Ayako-san, who gifted me a miniature dachshund cutlery rest because I love dogs, still uses it with great care!

After pouring the beer, I regretted a little that I hadn't chilled the glass beforehand. Hot drinks should be hot, and cold drinks should be cold. That's really important, isn't it? May is full of events, and I'm already scared it'll fly by in a rush (lol).
