A specialty shop in Okinosu, Kakegawa City, that sells ham and sausages, each carefully handmade from pigs lovingly raised by a family.Oishi Farm Ham Workshop"fart.

This shop opened in 2008 in Okinosu, Kakegawa, surrounded by the sea and greenery, just off National Route 150, and the owner is also a ham craftsman.Yoshihiro OishiThe ham and sausages made from pigs raised on a pig farm that was passed down from Kun's grandfather to his father and has been run for nearly 50 years, are made using authentic German methods with gratitude for the lives of the pigs, and are extremely popular, captivating many foodies and gourmets.

The store has a workshop where ham and sausages are made, with the meat being cured, stuffed into casings, and smoked. Each item is carefully handmade on-site and sold in the store.

On this particular day, I was visiting my family in Makinohara, so I stopped by just before closing time on my way back.

"Garden Terrace"

The lovely space under the eaves in front of the shop is called the "Garden Terrace" and is available as an eat-in area where you can enjoy freshly made hot dogs, sandwiches, and other items from the takeout menu sold at the storefront. This terrace is the only area where dogs are allowed, so our beloved dog, Chocolat, will wait here while we purchase items inside the shop.

The store features a large display case with over 50 varieties of ham and sausages on display at all times, which can be purchased by the gram.

There's also an eat-in space to the left of the entrance where you can order various items. We recommend trying out different options to see which one suits your taste before making a purchase.

Owner ham makerYoshihiro OishiMr. Kun spent eight years learning authentic German methods and training at a ham and sausage specialty shop in Fujikawa Town before becoming independent in 2008. Among them, "Kakegawa Tea Ham," newly developed with pride in being from Kakegawa, also won a gold medal. This demonstrates their daily challenging spirit and unwavering dedication, as their products are recognized and evaluated on a global level.

This product is available in limited quantities.Enshu Department StoreIt's also sold in the basement food halls of department stores, and since those of us who live in Hamamatsu can't easily make the trip here, we often buy it in the department store basement food halls. However, when faced with such a wide selection of products, we often find ourselves wondering which one to order.

OishiMr. and his wifeHitomiLet's look around for recommendations from [Name] and choose some snacks to go with our evening drinks.

Even just the sausages and wieners come in a wide variety of types, and popular with women is the one made with mozzarella cheese, which we also love.Mozzarella WurstHowever, what caught my eye this time wasExtra spicy chorizo". It's irresistible for those who love spicy food. Another interesting thing was "Comedian Cotton's sausage"And just the other day, the comedians Cotton and their friends came to interview us and were selling sausages they had made (lol)."

Previously, we held an event at our home:Prenoir's MeetingWe also received some delicious prosciutto as a gift, and if you have this prosciutto served as a platter on one plate, it makes a star appetizer for a small home party.

Sausages that are meant to be sliced and enjoyed on their own have different recommended ways of being eaten, such as grilled or eaten as is, so it's a good idea to ask for the best way to prepare them when you purchase them.

Weekend-onlyFreshly roasted porkThis is also a gold medal-winning product, and it's a very popular item when it's freshly baked on weekends. That morning,InstagramIt was featured on their stories, so it was one of the things I was looking forward to that day. Since we're here, let's have it in thick slices.

It's a joy to see chunks of meat hanging and aging. I feel like I could have a drink while gazing at them.

Through trial and error, they changed the recipe each time, creating German soft salami "Homemade raw salami with pepper visorThey are also taking on the challenge of "[...]". It seems they are not yet at a perfect score of 100 in their own self-assessment, but they are showing signs of improvement with each attempt.

The Oishi family, who are also dog lovers, sell dog treats made from leftover pork and beef tendons that are simply smoked without any seasoning. Later, I cut some into small pieces and gave it to my dog, Chocolat, and she went straight for it (lol).

The shelves also feature recommended, reasonably priced wines. Among them is an Argentinian Malbec with rich fruit flavors, a full-bodied character, and spicy notes.Antigal Estimuro Malbec" and a Lambrusco with a pleasant dry taste rich in the sweet and sour flavor of berries, offering the best value for money."Lambrusco Secco Logitt & Guarini", the oldest existing winery in America, located in the Hudson Valley of New York, and a winery with a track record of serving the White House."Brotherhood New York Red / WhiteAnd so on.

They offer their products with gratitude for the cycle of life and an unwavering dedication to providing delicious food.Oishi Farm Ham WorkshopI'd like to take the product home and enjoy it.

Stepping through the garden terrace into the backyard, we were greeted by a resident dog in a pleasant green paradise. A Shiba Inu on a lush lawn!

Our shop's mascot dog: Shiba Inu: Maron (female)

Maron-chan and our dog Chocolat are both shy around other dogs. Inevitably, they keep their distance from each other, and you don't see them playing together (lol).

With her big, round eyes glistening, Maron-chan enjoys a well-behaved rest, sitting demurely in a ladylike pose. Apparently, on days when Maron-chan goes to work, she drives from home. I was envious, thinking how happy Chocolat would be if we had such a large grassy area at our house. It's nice that this place is open to dog owners as long as they follow the rules of etiquette♪

"Freshly roasted pork"

I returned home, and although it was late, I immediately started drinking with the following:Freshly roasted porkI ordered the "[product name]". This time I requested thick slices. I was told, "Please eat it as is on the day it's freshly baked, without reheating." I wanted to try both, so I had both the raw and reheated versions, but when I tasted them I understood the intention behind being told to eat them "as is." If you prefer a moist texture, I highly recommend eating them without reheating.
