October 1, 2015Newly opened99th「Tiantian Night Market, Gourmet Market"fart!
A hotel front desk manager who speaks JapaneseChen Shengrong (commonly known as Yoyo-san)They guided us,
We'll enjoy a night market dinner together.
「Tenten Night Market"of"Tenten" means "every dayIt means "night market" and is open every day♪

This night market offers a wide variety of dishes from Southeast Asian countries and Taiwanese local food.
All the snacks are delicious!
Especially the chewy "meatball"I recommend this!"
The newly opened night market is very clean and tidy, making it a great choice even for those who dislike the distinctive smell typical of night markets.

Every night from 6 PMBusiness has started, Sunday to Thursday11:30 PMto,
Friday and Saturday weekend24 hoursWe will be open until [time].
In Japan, this is something that can only be seen during festivals and events.stall"but,
What's interesting about Taiwan is that you can enjoy it every night!
A variety of delicious and reasonably priced snacks are available.night marketIt's also a valuable kitchen for the local people of Taiwan!

This is a designated eating and drinking area within the venue, and anyone is free to use it.
If you secure an empty seat,
You can enjoy snacks bought from various street stalls!

Chen Shengrong (commonly known as Yoyo-san)but"Do you want to eat this? Or not? They listen to me while making recommendations,
Request what you want to eat and order one item from each stall.
I'd like to try out a variety of things♪

The most distinctive feature of this night market is,
It's not just Taiwanese local food; there are also many stalls selling local food from Southeast Asia!
Indian curry, tandoori chicken, satay, chai,
Furthermore, you'll find a wide variety of food stalls offering Thai curry, Khao Man Gai, and more!

The venue also has an amusement area for young children to enjoy.
I see a lot of families here.
Events are held on weekends, making the area even more lively!

After looking around at all the stalls, let's pick out some snacks that caught our eye and try them right away!

``Sweet Treasure Treasure''
「Fish treasureThis is a shop specializing in fried squid, offering a variety of sauces♪

"Yellow Gold Steamed Fish with Thai Style Sour and Sour Sauce" 100TWD
(Approximately 370 Japanese yen)
We'll fry the squid and serve it with sweet chili sauce and cilantro.
The thick, springy fried squid goes perfectly with the sweet and spicy chili sauce.
The aroma of cilantro will transport you to Thailand!

"Brother a meat skewer"
This is a specialty shop selling meat-wrapped rolls and skewers, which are always found at food stalls!

"Spring onion meat roll (pork), meat skewer (chicken)"
A meat roll made by wrapping pork around plenty of green onions is
The more you chew, the more the sweetness of the green onions spreads, making this a hearty and satisfying dish!
The yakitori skewers are also quite jumbo-sized, and they're chicken breast with green onions!

"Changhua Meatballs"
It is also a specialty of Taiwan.Meat bowl (bar one)。
meatballThese are meatballs, but unlike Japanese meatballs, they have a chewy texture!

"Changhua Meatballs" 40 TWD (approximately 150 Japanese Yen)
These meatballs have a chewy, mochi-like outer layer and are packed full of shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and meat.
The chewy outer layer is made from sweet potato starch, and its texture is irresistibly delicious for mochi lovers!
The source is, deliberately, "Add spicinessI asked them to do it with the phrase "".
This spiciness lingers and leaves you in agony! (lol)
The filling is simmered in a sweet and savory sauce, so it's fine even for children as long as you don't make the sauce too spicy!

"Indian rice cake Murtabak"
"Murtabak" refers to a region primarily in Saudi Arabia (especially the Hejaz region), Yemen, and Indonesia.
These pancakes can be found in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Brunei, and the batter contains ingredients.
It's like a crepe or okonomiyaki in Japan.
Various ingredients are used depending on the country, and there are two types: sweet ones that are like a snack, and savory ones that are like a side dish.
They sell side dishes here!

"Murtabak Mutton" 150 TWD (approximately 560 Japanese Yen)
I ordered Mutton Murtabak.
It comes with two sauces: an Indian curry sauce and a sauce made from palm sugar, and is also served with pickled ginger.
They serve the square portion neatly cut into four triangular pieces, making it easy to eat and share.
A dish that will whet your appetite with the spices of Indian curry!

"Yojin Yi Noodles"
「Inspirational noodles" is one of the noodle dishes of Taiwan,
These noodles are made by kneading the dough with whole eggs, and they have a long history, said to have originated in Tainan.

"Imen"
My husband went to buy some more "Yi Noodles" because he seemed to want some warm soup.
The noodles, with shrimp and water spinach, were beautifully colorful,
As for the taste... I can see why Japanese ramen is so popular all over the world (lol).

"Old Beef Bean Flower Grass"
This is a popular specialty shop for dessert drinks, mainly tapioca, but also including douhua (tofu pudding) and grass jelly!
Tapioca milk tea has become famous in Japan, but the version with grass jelly hasn't really caught on yet!

"Signature Special (Bubble Tea, Tofu Pudding, and Grass Jelly)" 50 TWD (approximately 190 Japanese Yen)
This drink consists of sweet milk tea with a jelly made from a herb called "xiancao" (grass jelly).
Grass jelly is a plant found in Taiwan and southern China, and is used to ward off heat and detoxify the body.
The raw material is green grass, but when it's made into jelly, it turns black and looks just like coffee jelly!
It's served with a special thick straw, just like bubble tea.
It contains large chunks of grass jelly, so you have to suck it up quite hard to get it out (lol).
The taste of grass jelly has a slightly bitter flavor that you might find in traditional Chinese medicine,
It blends with sweet milk tea, creating a pleasant balance of sweet and bitter flavors.
Grass jelly is low in calories and is said to be good for both beauty and health.
If you're tired of tapioca milk tea, you should definitely give this a try!

While enjoying our meal, we noticed a booth that was particularly lively in the venue!
The man, surrounded by lots of merchandise, spoke in a remarkably rapid-fire manner:Bargain sale (street vendor))They are doing this,
The area is filled with people who are watching the scene intently.
In old Japan, this was a common sight:Banana auction」、
I was able to enjoy a scene that somehow evoked a sense of nostalgia!
Now that we've filled our stomachs at the night market,
Take a stroll around the area on foot back to the hotel, then relax in a bath and soothe away your fatigue.
