    宜蘭設治記念館は私にとってはかけがえのない存在です。1932-4When I、宜蘭郡主官舎になっていたこの家に私の両親梅谷修三・八千代そして当時2歳の姉一子が暮らしていました私は1935年父が新竹に転任してそこで生まれました当時の写真と比べてあまり変わっていません広い庭一層として古木広々としてたくさんの部屋我が家一家はその後終戦まで台北で暮らしました父が役人であったのでポストが変わるたびに官舎が変わり子供の私は今度はどんな家かなと楽しみでした台北で住んだ官舎がすべてなくなってしまった今宜蘭の官舎は私の生まれる前のものとは言え現存する唯一のものです

      実際にご両親がお住いになっていた時と
      何も変わっていないということは
      維持管理がきちんとされてきたのだと思います
      台湾には多くの場所で
      日本統治時代の建物がそのままの状態で残っていて
      当時の歴史を肌で感じることができました
      またその時代の建物は
      日本と西洋の文化をうまく融合させたもので
      とても素晴らしいデザインだと思います
      最近では当時の建物をリノベーションして
      商業施設として活用するところも増えてきていますので
      多くの方の生活に溶け込んでいるように思います
      コロナが終息して
      また台湾へ気軽に足を運べる日が来るのを
      心から願います
