20世紀を代表する画家の一人として、世界中で高い人気を誇るMarc Chagall マルク・シャガール（1887-1985）。宙を舞うカップルや動物、現実離れした鮮烈な色彩など、その幻想的な絵画の数々は多くの美術ファンを魅了しています。On the other hand、シャガールは第二次世界大戦後の後半生、歌劇場や美術館、ヨーロッパ各地の大聖堂、University、議会などの公共空間を飾るモニュメント（記念碑的作品）も手がけています。大空間を飾るそれらの作品は、壁画や天井画、Stained-glass Windows、陶板画、モザイク画、タピスリーなど多彩な技法と形式によるもので、60歳を越してなお、新たな技法で巨大なスケールの作品に挑み続けた、その旺盛な制作意欲と才能には驚くべきものがあります。 Current、葵タワー3Fの「静岡市美術館」では、油彩画に加え、華やかなパリ・オペラ座の天井画、メッス大聖堂のステンドグラス等、代表的なモニュメントにかかわるシャガールの活動を、下絵やスケッチのほか、関連する絵画・版画作品、舞台衣装など日本初公開163点を含む計236点の作品を展示されています♪ 展覧会の構成は、第Ⅰ章「祝祭の空間－色彩の交響」、第Ⅱ章「精神のヒカリ－祈りの造形」、第Ⅲ章「南仏での安息－晩年の境地」と3部に構成されています。第Ⅰ章では、パリを訪れた者全てを圧倒的な美しさで魅了し続けているオペラ座の天井画の最終下絵をはじめ、完成までにおよそ1年の月日を費やした、その過程を楽しむことができます。実際に2012年11月にわたし達の新婚旅行で訪れたパリ、オペラ座で拝観した時の興奮を呼び戻し、下絵といえどもその美しさに息を飲み込むことをしばし忘れるほど。シャガールがデザインを手掛け、実際に舞台で使用されていた舞台衣装などの展示もとても1950年代のものと思えぬほどに、多彩でユニークでリアリティ溢れ、現在のファッションデザインにも多く影響を残したであろう不思議な感覚に捉われるものばかりで抜群の色彩感覚です！第Ⅱ章では、ステンドグラスなど宗教建築のための制作が見られ、ランスのノートルダム大聖堂の目を奪う鮮やかなラピス・ラズリのように深く、とても印象的なシャガールブルーのステンドグラスには圧巻の一言。スクリーンで流すステンドグラスや作品の数々にはただただ溜息が零れてしまいます。ステンドグラスに携わることで実際にガラスに興味を示したシャガールが、エッチング技法を用いて制作した作品なども大変興味深く、その美しさに吸い込まれてしまいそうになるほどです。第Ⅲ章では、南仏コート・ダジュールで過ごした安息の日々を振り返りながら、彼が晩年手掛けた油彩、版画、Ceramic art、レリーフ、タピスリーなど多様な技法の作品を展示されており、50年代から70年代へと年代と共に画のタッチが変わりゆく様を眺めるのも、多くの作品を眺めるときの楽しみ方でもあります♪ こちらは、一昨年末にパリのオペラ座に訪れたときに撮影した天井画。実物は、言葉にならないほどの美しさと迫力です。シャガールのロミオとジュリエットなど名作の名場面を集めた宝石箱のようなこのオペラ座の天井画は、現在でもパリのオペラ座の観客を魅了しています。5つの色彩を基調とし、シャガールらしい幻想的な描写で描かれており、天井画の中で世界で最も優雅であり豪華であると高い評価を得ている作品です♪ 展覧会のカタログやグッズ、ポストカードなどのほか、交流ゾーンで行われるイベントに関連した書籍やアーティストグッズも販売しています。芸術関連の良書や最新の美術雑誌、優れたデザインのステーショナリーや雑貨などを国内外のメーカー・ブランドからセレクト。日々の暮らしにうるおいを与えてくれる素敵なグッズや、地元静岡の優れた製品を積極的に紹介しています。In the Café、厳選された良質なコーヒーや静岡茶をベースにしたブレンドティーなどをいただきながら、ゆっくりと寛ぎの時間を過ごすことが可能です。展示期間は今月末まで。まだまだ間に合いますので、是非とも足を運んでご自身の眼で眺めてみてください♪ テレビ静岡開局45周年記念 Marc Chagall シャガール展会場：静岡市美術館（静岡市葵区紺屋町17-1 葵タワー3F）開催：2014/1/2（火）～2014/3/30（日）開館時間：10:00-19:00（展示室入場は閉館の30分前まで）休館日：毎週月曜日観覧料：一般1,300円（前売1,100円）大高生・70歳以上900円（前売700円）中学生以下無料展覧会公式ホームページ http://m-chagall.com/ http://shizubi.jp/...
